Upravlator is a completely new kind of input device. We're going to annouce it next week.
It will be plugged into your second monitor port. It will be as fast as LCD display may be. It will be a single best friend of any music engineer or video editor. Graphic designers should be happy as well.
true... but i've seen usb "powered" displays and no firewire ones... and anyway, most computers can provide more usb ports... and usb2.0 is "as fast" as firewire anyway... :)
Both have plenty of bandwidth but I would still be interested - assuming that the card doesn't have to be anything special. Having full video playing over your keyboard would look awesome...
Why do I have to buy another video card to use that keyboard. What a nuisance!
Why can't it just be USB instead?! I mean, all you need is to send and receive commands. I don't understand why it needs to be connected to the video card. I simply don't get it.
It isn't just sending and recieving commands. I assume it is recieving separate, individual video signals for each key. Thats a lot of bandwidth to pass through a usb (even 2.0) or firewire port... How many monitors do you actually *use* through your usb 2.0 or firewire ports?
Probably the best way to handle this would be a dedicated pci-e card with dvi or mini-dvi.
Remember this is a *VIDEO* keyboard. Essentially a monitor broken into separate quadrants. Can your monitor do 104 picture-in-pictures simultansouly? Also, it can't just send the signal once, it is going to have a somewhat fast refresh rate.

USB 2 (480Mbps) is faster than Firewire (400Mbps)Both have plenty of bandwidth but I would still be interested - assuming that the card doesn't have to be anything special. Having full video playing over your keyboard would look awesome...

Uhh, yeah USB for sure
I wouldn't buy one then because I have dual monitor already set up. I would research making it USB instead. It will sell better.Anonymous

Re: Uhh, yeah USB for sure
Or supply a brand new card (PCI express) to handle it. I would go for that.October 16 2006, 18:06:14 UTC 5 years ago
Separate card
I would vote for a separate card, then. Otherwise, you will need to have 2 video cards in SLI to use this as well as two monitors.Anonymous

Re: Separate card
The graphics cards don't have to be in SLI. When in SLI mdoe, only one monitor is used.Anonymous

I will NOT be buying it for sure.

fire wire
is faster the use 2.0 as it has less cpu over head.
